In English we talked about when to start a new paragraph when writing, here is our anchor chart that helps us remember:
We also talked about writing a good reading log. A good log includes thinking critically about the text, using strategies such as inferring and making connections. It also analyzes some elements of the text like character, setting and plot. Finally, it’s always good to look at the writer’s craft, literary devices such as simile, metaphor and foreshadowing and good descriptive writing – show, don’t tell!
In math our bellwork was to see how well we remembered the divisibility rules from last week. Some people need more practice and there is a little bit of homework – correcting the bellwork using the rules.
Then we moved onto long division. This one takes awhile to learn, but it’s worth the time. We will practice in class and I will be sending home some practice (including multiplication when we check our answers). Here is a little video with the steps.
